Fuel consumptions of a 1999 Polo Classic 1.6L manual petrol

For all those who want to know what fuel consumption a 1999 VW Polo Classic sedan will give can get the real info here.  Most driving was done on 70% highway and suburban traffic. None was done in city driving or peak traffic time.  The car was never pushed above 120 km/h or 75 mph on the highway, actually, most driving was done at 100-110 km/h (62-68 mph).

So far the average fuel consumption for the Polo Classic 1.6 is 8.6 L/100 km or 27.35 mpg (US) and 32.85 mpg (UK). Which considering the car is 18 years old quite good.

It hope this will help a lot of buyers considering an old car like this. We all worry about fuel consumption and anything above 10 L/100km or below 22 mpg(US) or 28 mpg (UK) is considered high.  I must say I was quite surprised how low it was, especially the mileage done. The car does use some oil, but not a lot. We have to add about 500 ml every 4 months.

The best business advice ever

There are hundreds of sites providing complicated guides and advice to business. You will also find thousands of ebooks on the subject, and these are all for free, for starters. I have read a lot, one of the most profound books ever written will always be Good to Great. I don't think you can beat the basic principles discussed, even if you are a small company or mom and pop shop.

But if you had to nail a principle down to once sentence, something you can remember while doing business to help you approach customers and suppliers it will be the following:

Choose only two: price, quality or service
You can only have two, that applies for a custom that is asking for a quote or a supplier providing a quote. Decide for yourself what are you willing to give. You cannot provide all three. If you do that I promise you, you will run out of business very quickly.

When dealing with a customer you will quickly get a gut feel that they maybe after cheap products and good service, that's ok…
